write 2 short paragraphs about it on your blog. In the first paragraph, summarize the main points of the article. In the second paragraph, offer a few thoughts or opinions of your own. Paragraphs are at least a few sentences long. Shoot for 100 words as a minimum.
The flood still has huge amounts of peoples home under reptile infested water. They haven't had the best luck lately b/c of the oil spill last year and now this. According to the Associated Press the Mississippi River has reached 47.85 feet. This flood will happen for few more days according to an official. Now the Mississippi river is at 6 times its normal width. Record flooding is expected in New Orleans. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers planned on creating three major spill ways in Louisiana but this would cause thousands of people in the area to evacuate and depend on levees. This also causes water to go to areas where the oil spill occured and drown the richest farmland in the country. Also this rush of fresh water will go into several oyster beds, killing the seawater-based molluscs, this causing the end of any oyster harvesting this year. But, authorities say this must happen to protect New Orleans and Baton Roue from major flooding. In Memphis they are still monitoring levees even though the maximum height of the flood has already happened.
I think they should build a dam on the Mississippi River so future floods are prevented. Also I think they should build higher and stronger levees so it is harder for a flood to happen. Lastly, if they do create spill ways, they should make the water go into the woods b/c this will not effect homes and businesses and make the ground more fertile for the plants to eat off but this will make animals die and find new habitats until the flood is over.

AIR ACT.....
1. sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides
2. The source of most sulfur dioxide is high-sulfur coal burned in power plants. Controlling this source of sulfur dioxide production can have a major impact on acid rain in Pennsylvania and other regions of the Northeast.
3. Only 30 %of the nitrogen oxides causing acid rain come from power production. Automobiles generate another 30 percent and the agricultural sector contributes an additional 25 to 30 percent. Lightening strikes and biological processes produce the remaining nitrogen naturally. Consequently, it is much more difficult to control and regulate nitrogen oxides.
